We have the capacity to produce high-quality, battery-grade lithium carbonate for the global market. From extraction to final delivery, we are committed to a responsible value chain that upholds human rights and protects the environment.
Our lithium carbonate is produced to the highest ESG standards—not only in terms of safety, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility. A hybrid energy system, including a 300 kWh solar power plant, helps to reduce the carbon footprint of our operations.
At full capacity, we will produce 24,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate annually.
Lithium: A strategic metal for the energy transition
Lithium is one of the key metals used in battery manufacturing. According to the International Energy Agency, global demand could grow four to six times by 2030, reaching an annual production of 500,000 tons.
Together with nickel and cobalt, lithium is one of the three essential elements in electric vehicle (EV) batteries and a cornerstone of the energy transition. The Eramet Group contributes to this transformation by producing lithium in Argentina, nickel in Indonesia, and manganese in Gabon—all critical materials for lithium-ion batteries powering EVs worldwide.
