A hybrid electric source
Eramine’s electric system is hybrid. Part of it uses solar energy – a sustainable energy source – and the rest uses fuel. After the installation of 300-kWh solar panels in 2021 that are sustaining the basecamp and the Training Center, we estimate that fuel savings will reach 40% by 2030, which will reduce our carbon footprint.

Different actions have been implemented to ensure the energy efficiency of the site. We have invested in a power plant on site and a gas compression plant 320 km away.
The gas motor that produces the electricity and the exhaust gas are used to co-generate steam and hot water, because of the technology we have chosen.
This way, we make the best use of the energy content of the gas.
