We are a key player for a sustainable future

Our sustainable vision is present in every process we carry out. This vision is defined in Eramet’s CSR roadmap called “Act for Positive Mining”, which includes three main axes:

Act for positive mining Logo

Care for people, be a trusted partner for nature & transform our value chain

This vision is aligned with the IRMA standard (Standard for Responsible Mining) and has important goals on the following topics:

  • Human rights (ethics and integrity, anti-corruption)
  • Safety (zero work-related accidents)
  • Sustainability (activator of local development)
  • Preservation of the environment and biodiversity

IRMA is an international recognition for companies that implement actions compatible with socially and environmentally responsible mining, a concrete way of expressing their commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

The implementation is completely auditable, and its governance includes multiple stakeholders (NGOs, the mining industry, international trade unions, intermediate buyers, investors, etc.). IRMA is more strict requirements than the laws of any country on the best mining practices at an industrial scale. IRMA covers the following topics:

  • Environmental protection
  • Relations with the communities
  • Human rights

In 2021, Eramet included this mission to its bylaws to reflect its deep-rooted commitment: to be a socially responsible company with civic consciousness.
